I have done a yearly yard sale for at least the past 5 years. Last year, I didn't do one with everything that was going on... and I had sworn I wasn't doing anymore. I made a pile of things to donate around the beginning of the year and brought them to The Boy's old preschool. I was really happy about that and thought maybe I wouldn't be doing a yard sale this year. Then as we started thinking about packing, I started realizing just how much "stuff" we still had that we were not using anymore. So I decided to yard sale some of it, throw some of it out, and donate some of it. The cool thing is that "yard saling" in 2013 has gone all high tech... ;-) There are Facebook Yard Sale sites for most local areas - you post pictures of the stuff you are selling and VOILA people message you and buy the stuff. It just doesn't get much easier than that. Today, the kids and I went through all of their "Little People" sets. They set up each one with all of the pieces that go with them, I took the pictures and posted them and within a few hours they are all almost sold! Yeah! It feels very good to start letting some of this "stuff" go...I feel lighter with each sale, happier with each donation, and thrilled by the things that can simply go in the trash. :-)
