The Pooch likes keeping to a bedtime routine.  So needless to say, Summer is starting to wear on him.  The kids are going to be later, we are going to be a little later, but still up early in the mornings as well while the kids sleep in.... This schedule is making The Pooch very tired since he can't go to bed until everyone else does and he feels the need to get up with the first person awake.  So by tonight he had had it.  He could barely keep his eyes open as he stood next to me pleading with me to go to bed. I thought he would fall over right there.  Silly dog.

I did my 7 mile training run this morning and when I updated my 1000 mile challenge, this was the message that I got.  I laughed out loud.  For real.  But seriously.... I am pretty proud of myself for reaching this goal on my quest to run 1000 miles this year.  Finishing out July with 666.89 miles is not too shabby!  Just 333.11 miles to go!

After a day spent at a friend's birthday party, The Boy came home and asked if he could go surfing.  So he and My Wonderful Husband grabbed their boards and paddled out.  And they did just that.... they paddled out together, sat on their boards talking and waiting for the waves, and caught them together.  It was a short session with the sun setting earlier as July is drawing to close....but it was a great session for these two surfers.

The skies looked ominous to the south but that didn't stop us from enjoying our time in our "bubble" on the beach.  It also made a great photo backdrop while the boys skimmed.

It is truly the little things in life that make me the happiest.....  After The Princess' tournament, she and My Wonderful Husband met me and the boys at the beach for a while.  We headed back for showers and dinner while My Wonderful Husband taught a late afternoon surf lesson and before The Bear and The Princess needed to leave for a babysitting job.  While I was cooking dinner, the kids were hanging out at the counter taking online quizzes and just being silly.  I know it doesn't sound like much, but if I could have bottled this day and this moment, I would have.  There were laughs and chatting as they took the quizzes and we watched a late day storm roll in as My Wonderful Husband got home and we had dinner.  I snapped this photo because, while I can't bottle the moment, I can preserve it a bit.  Love these three.  More than they will ever know.

These four, along with some other friends and The Boy and his friends (who I couldn't grab for a photo) had a fun day at the water park.  The.whole.day.  They were there for 6 hours and only took a break for some pizza with us across the street.

You know what's a bummer way to end a fun beach day and an evening at a concert on the bay?  Ending it in an ambulance.  Yeah that can put a damper on an evening.  Especially when The Bear's friend's mom calls to say "Everything is fine.  But we're just sitting in the ambulance..."  The poor mom - no one wants a kid to get hurt on our watch so I feel for her.  He is fine but he took a pretty good fall on some stones and ripped up one knee while banging the other pretty good.  He was mostly upset about cutting the night short for his friend and his family.  I was happy to see that it wasn't as bad as I thought.....

Happy Birthday to me....A day spent doing some of my favorite things.  A morning work out, a day at the beach with the family, and an evening run during The Bear's soccer practice.  I couldn't ask for more really.

This crew had a fun Friday night at Fantasy Island.  Rides, games, and even a little Pokemon Go through Bay Village.  They had a blast.

When the kids were little we had a picture book called Hi Pizza Man.  Whenever My Wonderful Husband makes his pizzas it reminds me of that book.  It also reminds me how much I LOVE his pizza.  Best pizza around.

The boys have discovered spike ball at the beach.  Just another way to spend the summer days.... so thankful for these days.  Even though it got chilly today and even though we needed to leave for soccer practices tonight.... days spent at the beach are days I wouldn't trade for anything.

I love Summer.  Have I mentioned that lately?  I love the relaxed days... the lack of a pressing schedule... no homework...no packing lunches....sun, sand, salt air.  I love spending the days at the beach while the kids play.  I love time spent at the beach with friends and time spent at the beach with My Wonderful Husband.  Seriously, nothing else makes me this happy.  I wish I could stay in a Summer mood all year long.

The Bear and The Princess were supposed to have a week of soccer camp.  We set out in the morning and they were ready to go.  Unfortunately the camp neglected to tell us and the other two friends of theirs that they didn't get very many (and any other for that matter) advanced players.  So after this photo and just one day of the camp, they reimbursed us the money and we will try for a different week.  Either way, I got a good photo of these two.

The Princess is sleeping at a friend's house tonight and the boys asked to go get ice cream at Skipper Dipper.  While they were there they ran into a friend of mine I haven't seen since high school so I ran over to see her.  While I gone, this is what transpired on my phone.......  these two make me laugh.  It's a twin thing.

What do you do when the skies threaten rain, you have a few friends over, and you all leave the beach?  You take the many gallons of ice cream from the other night out of the freezer and let them have at it.  Cherry ice, chocolate syrup and every flavor ice cream with sprinkles?  Sure why not?  Dessert before dinner - it was how we rolled this summer afternoon.

Another year has come and gone.  It was time for our annual get together with our friends...and of course ice cream.  This year we sent all of the kids to get the fixings and they came back with enough ice cream to feed a small army.  We look forward to seeing them each year - 21 summers and counting.

It may have been the shortest fireworks display ever and it may have rained...but the fact that we got to spend another year celebrating the 4th with these three makes me happy.  I love these moments...and make no mistake this year's display was only mere moments.  haha!  But like The Bear said, we will never forget that.  Some day we will say "remember that year when the fireworks lasted about ten minutes?" and we will all laugh.  Happy 4th of July from our firecrackers to yours!

It was a beautiful night for a walk up to the beach after some grocery shopping.  I love that we can do that.... we can do our weekly grocery shopping and then walk up to the beach.

It was a house divided.  Germany vs Italy.  It came down to penalty kicks and a tense few minutes.  Sadly Italy lost.....

It was an overcast and eventually rainy day.  I slept in a bit, cleaned, took care of bills, did laundry, cooked, and baked.  We also did  some work on the backyard this time.... it is really shaping up nicely.
